  1. In Public Sector organizations in the Caribbean, employee engagement is most times absent especially at lower levels. Employees are more concerned with their paychecks at the end of the month and whatever other benefits that are available, such as paid vacation and sick leave and casual leave. Those at the higher level are more interested in promotion and increased salaries. They are not really concerned with contributing to achieving the organization’s goals and more often than not public sector employees have no knowledge of what these goals are. This emotional commitment to work is stronger in the private sector.
